Laura Whitmore is reportedly fearing up to front a documentary addressing taboo subjects such as rough sex and incel culture.

The former host, 37, is believed to be returning to her investigative journalistic roots as the new series will explore serious issues women face.

A source shared: ‘Rough sex is a subject that taps into the grey areas that come with certain behaviours and how we navigate them.

‘We’re a society which is increasingly exposed to violence via the internet and that can lead to problems when that manifests itself in real life.’

The insider added to : ‘As in so many similar situations, that often means women bear the brunt of those problems, which is what Laura will be looking at in the doc’

The ads for The Muff Liquor Company, seen in July, featured the former MTV presenter drinking peppermint tea, and then water, beer and ‘Muff & tonic’, while her dancing became increasingly energetic.

Music in the background included the lyrics: ‘I’ll be f***ed up if you can’t be right here.’

The Muff Liquor Company said it asked Laura, who  in West End play 2:22 A Ghost Story last year, to remove the ads within 24 hours of being made aware of the complaint.

The firm confirmed she was a shareholder but said she was not paid for the ads.

They said 2.7% of the star’s 1.6 million social media followers were under 18 years of age, and therefore understood that the product had not been inappropriately targeted to under-18s.

TikTok also said Laura had not used its branded content disclosure tool, even though the post appeared to fall into this category.

Instagram said it had no comment on the investigation.
