New to this season of are reality saplings, that let you grow your own weapons.
The latest update for Fortnite is here and Chapter 3 Season 3 is all about vibin’. Well, vibin’ and gardening, which doesn’t necessarily seem an obvious combination. Epic Games’ latest wrinkle to the game allows you to plant seeds in one match of their battle royale and then collect the rewards in another.
Reality saplings are part of this week’s current challenge, so you’ll want to be on the look out around the aptly named Reality Falls, which will be where the saplings are spawning. You can either make your way over after looting the map or drop straight in to ensure you’re on top of completing the challenge.
Saplings look like giant bulbs and once you deal enough damage with your harvesting weapon, they’ll crack open for you to begin the process of planting.
Plant or summon saplings using reality seeds in Fortnite
You might find that this challenge is only difficult due to how busy the area will be. The challenge involves you planting three of the seeds and most of the bulbs you find will spawn two or three seeds for you to plant.
All you need to do is grab one of the seeds and throw it in any location. Once you’ve done that, it’ll begin growing for your next match.
You don’t have to plant it in Reality Falls, as the tactical advantage of setting aside a random weapon for yourself in a future match depends on how you want to play.
Also keep an eye on the weeds growing around the plants. The longer you leave it and the more weeds you pick, the better your chance at getting mythical loot.
Once you’ve completed the challenge, you’ll earn yourself 15,000 XP to level up and potentially get closer to that cool-looking Darth Vader skin on the battle pass.
While we don’t have an exact list of weapons the saplings can spawn, having any type of free item stashed away for yourself every game is going to help earn you a win and is well worth taking a detour for.
