has been accused of sexually inappropriate behaviour by 13 women.

The French actor, 74, is known for appearing in the likes of The Man In The Iron Mask and the French language version of drama series Your Honor.

Now French outlet has published an in-depth report .

The alleged incidents are linked to productions between 2004 and 2022, including series Marseille.

Since the publication of the report, multiple directors and producers involved in the productions have stated publicly they had no knowledge of Depardieu’s alleged actions.

Depardieu’s lawyers have confirmed the actor ‘formally denies all the charges likely to fall under criminal law,’ and claimed some of the described incidents are based on ‘very subjective assessments and/or moral judgements.’

The wide-ranging report is said to be the result of months-long investigation, prompted by rumours and social media comments about Depardieu’s alleged behaviour.

It says the allegations are of ‘differing levels of gravity’ and relate to 13 women – some actresses, make-up artists or other crew members – alleging ‘sexually inappropriate jests or proposals’ from the actor.

They allege ‘to have been subjected to a hand on their buttock, between the legs, or on their thighs or stomach; as well as obscene sexual propositions, and sometimes insistent groaning.’

The report describes a culture of people turning a blind eye to the alleged comments and abuse, with incidents ignored or brushed off, and explained away with the phrase: ‘It’s just Gérard.’

It adds that the women were afraid to come forward at first in fear it would affect their careers and they would not find work again.

These new claims are in addition to 2018 rape charges brought against Depardieu by French actress Charlotte Arnould, which is currently going through courts in France after he failed to have the charges overturned.

She alleges that she went to him for acting advice and he raped and sexually assaulted her twice in his home, which he denies.

Depardieu became known to US audiences after starring in the 1990 comedy Green Card.

He also starred in Hamlet in 1996 before starring in 2006 rom-com Last Holiday alongside Queen Latifah.
