Following a report that God Of War: Ragnarok had been delayed to 2023, a second report has emerged that says the exact opposite.

With it absent from the , and no signs of a new State of Play, there are concerns that God Of War: Ragnarök won’t make its 2022 release window.

Earlier this week, it was claimed that the game had been delayed into 2023 and the at Summer Game Fest only seemed to corroborate that.

In a surprising turn, however, a second report has come out that completely disputes the first one, insisting that the God Of War sequel will not only release this year, but specifically in November.

Plus, it’s claimed Sony itself plans on formally announcing this before the end of June. It’s not yet clear whether this means we’re getting a whole State of Play for first party games or if Sony will post a simple update on its PlayStation Blog.

The game was already and has apparently suffered multiple internal delays due to the coronavirus pandemic and other, unspecified production issues.

We do know that one of these issues was because , the actor for main character Kratos, required extensive back surgery and Sony was willing to wait for him to recover rather than cast another actor.

This report comes from , a reliable source of information within the industry, who says he heard it all from three individuals familiar with God Of War: Ragnarök’s development.

He also explicitly references the initial claims by , which said it heard about the game’s delay to 2023 from multiple different European sources.

The Bloomberg report, however, does admit that the November date isn’t set in stone and the game could wind up being delayed again anyway.

Sony will certainly be keen to get God Of War: Ragnarök out before the end of the year, since it otherwise lacks any major first party releases for the rest of 2022.

There is the which launches September 2, but that’s not a brand new release.

God Of War: Ragnarök is in development for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
