Gogglebox hit with further Ofcom complaints after X-rated duck scene sparks backlash

Gogglebox has been hit with more complaints over a very raunchy scenein an episode first shown in April. 

During a recent episode – which premiered on Friday April 22 – the families were getting ready to tune into the series called Roar, a feminist anthology starring Nicole Kidman.

The series is based on a book of short stories by Cecelia Ahern, including one called The Woman Who Was Fed By A Duck.

But, in the disturbing clip shown to viewers and the cast of sofa critics, character Elisa (Merritt Wever) is seduced and eventually sexually pleasured by the bird.

Surprisingly, this didn’t go down so well with everyone.

Ofcom has now received a further 68 complaints from April 26 until May 2, on top of the previous batch.

A spokeperson confirmed to Metro.co.uk: ‘Complaints related to clips shown from Apple TV’s Roar. 

‘This was also reported in our Audience Complaints report on 27 April. The total complaints number is 217.’

It is not yet clear whether an investigation will be launched.

On the night, the cast of the beloved Channel 4 show were completely disgusted by the shocking scenes, as well as viewers tuning in at home. 

Actress Merritt, 41, recently shared her thoughts over the X-rated scene, but said she was more concerned about the public’s reaction. 

‘I’m nervous about it, honestly,’ she told . ‘I’m nervous to hear how it is received. I’m scared.’
