popped the question to his girlfriend Amy Jackson on a beautiful bridge in Switzerland on Sunday, holding up a huge crowd as he did it.
The Gossip Girl actor, 36, , got down on one knee and proposed to his Bollywood actress fiancée at the upscale resort of Gstaad.
Amy, 31, born in the Isle of Man, first began dating Ed in 2022, three years after – the couple broke things off shortly afterwards.
In the beautiful ski resort, Ed picked an incredible location to do it, proposing to Amy on a high footbridge with views of the Swiss Alps all around.
There was just one problem: lots of other people at the Gstaad resort wanted to cross the bridge, but had to wait for Ed and Amy’s special moment to be over before they could get across.
In a post on Instagram, Ed and Amy’s happy memories were forever preserved in lovely photos, but one hilarious snap showed the size of the crowd that had assembled at one side of the bridge.
As Ed and Amy hugged on the bridge, several tourists were being held up by a resort employee, with many of them choosing to film the couple as they dedicated themselves to each other.
It’s not known how long the crowd had to wait but there haven’t been reports of anybody becoming stranded on any nearby Swiss mountains, so it’s assumed that everybody eventually made it across the bridge safely.
Amy, a Bollywood actress was born in the UK but made her name starring in Hindi and Tamil films after being spotted by Indian talent agencies at the age of 17.
She moved back to England in 2015, at which point she became engaged for the first time before breaking it off with fiancée George just months before the wedding.
The couple had one child, a son, who was born in September 2019. She began dating Ed in May 2022 and has continued modelling and acting ever since.
Ed, born in London, first shot to fame as a cast member of The CW’s Gossip Girl, on which he played Chuck Bass for six seasons, alongside fellow cast members Blake Lively, Leighton Meester, and Kristen Bell.
In November 2017, by three different women, but the case was dropped when two witnesses were deemed unable to provide sufficient evidence, while one of the three claimants was unable to be contacted by prosecutors.
At the time, the allegations resulted in the second series of Ed’s BBC comedy White Gold, with Inbetweeners stars James Buckley and Joe Thomas, being delayed for two years.
