Taylor Hawkins will be honored at this weekend’s Grammy Awards, after his death.
, with his devastated bandmates – Dave Grohl, Nate Mendel, Chris Shiflett, Pat Smear, and Rami Jaffee – confirming the news.
Bosses have now confirmed that he will be remembered at the ceremony on Sunday evening – where the late musician was due to be performing.
‘We will honor his memory in some way,’ Jack Sussman – the CBS executive vice president of specials, music and live events – said via Variety.
‘We want to figure out what is the right thing to do that is respectful to everyone involved. We’re patient.
‘We’ll be planning right up until the very end.’
The Foo Fighters are up for three trophies on the night and were scheduled to perform, but it is not known whether his bandmates will be taking part in the tribute.
Hawkins died on Saturday and was found in his hotel room in Colombia, during the group’s tour.
‘The Foo Fighters family is devastated by the tragic and untimely loss of our beloved Taylor Hawkins,’ the Best of You singers wrote.
‘His musical spirit and infectious laughter will live on with all of us forever.
‘Our hearts go out to his wife, children and family, and we ask that their privacy be treated with the utmost respect in this unimaginably difficult time.’
Hawkins’ death is currently being investigated, with a statement released by the Colombian attorney general’s office on Twitter claiming he had ‘10 different substances in his system’ at the time of his death.
The band have since confirmed that following their loss.
‘It is with great sadness that Foo Fighters confirm the cancellation of all upcoming tour dates in light of the staggering loss of our brother Taylor Hawkins,’ they said.
‘We’re sorry for and share in the disappointment that we won’t be seeing one another as planned.
‘Instead, let’s take this time to grieve, to heal, to pull our loved ones close, and to appreciate all the music and memories we’ve made together. With love, Foo Fighters.’
