Fans have got so upset with the latest update, that makes it harder to earn in-game currency, they’ve created a way to earn without playing.
When it first launched everything seemed to be going well for . The reviews were good and while than Sony probably wanted it was still a major hit.
There wasn’t even that much outrage over the that were added at launch, but things did start to get nasty when the game’s online-only nature meant it was unplayable for over 24 hours and when it returned suddenly it was much harder to earn in-game currency.
Many accused Sony of trying to push people towards spending money on microtransactions, and to counter that a fan has released a special mod that works via the PS Remote Play app to have the game play itself.
Normally consoles can’t run mods in the same way that PCs can but since PS Remote Play is available on PC, fan Septomor has been able to create a simple script to allow you to farm the currency need to unlock new cars.
Septomor explains how it all works on the and while it is relatively technical it’s still something most players should be able to get working without much trouble.
It’s stated that the script was specifically created as a response to the most recent update and the way it ‘nerfs’ the amount of money you earn from races.
Director Kazunori Yamauchi has already , saying that: ‘I would like to have users enjoy lots of cars and races even without microtransactions. At the same time the pricing of cars is an important element that conveys their value and rarity, so I do think it’s important for it to be linked with the real world prices.’
Although there still probably aren’t many fans that will go to the trouble of using the script it will increase the pressure on Sony to undo the effects of the update.
At the very least they’re likely to want to try and stop the loophole with PS Remote Play, especially if it ends up being used on other games.
