Gran Turismo 7 still UK number one despite controversy – Games charts 19 March

Fan complaints about microtransactions and being online-only haven’t hurt Gran Turismo 7’s physical sales, as Stranger Of Paradise debuts.

The physical sales chart continues to paint an increasingly skewed via of overall game sales, as while Gran Turismo 7 remains at number one for the third week running, we already know that once digital sales are factored in it’s actually one of the .

It’s also not a surprise to find that high street sales have been relatively unaffected by that more mainstream gamers will have been largely unaware – even if they can’t help but have noticed it didn’t work for over 24 hours last week.

The highest new entry of the week is Square Enix’s , which suffered from mixed reviews and a very off-putting marketing campaign. In the end, it was discounts on a number of older games which had a larger impact on the sales chart.
