’s showstopper on Tuesday’s edition of ’s all-star spin-off gave the show perhaps its most random creation ever in the form of a meringue .

And the American author and comedian went all out in the.

For the final challenge of the episode, following fruit turnovers and a rather , everything was still to play for in the quest for the coveted star baker apron.

Up against choirmaster Gareth Malone, presenter and , judges and tasked Ruby and company with depicting their most embarrassing moments in meringue – as you do.

However, Ruby’s showstopper took the biscuit (excuse us) not just for its randomness but also her commitment to piping out the Microsoft co-founder’s face in meringue.

Explaining the background, Ruby recalled that they were filming together in Belgium when a cake was brought in decorated with two flares.

With the flames rapidly growing taller though, the comic and billionaire both rushed to the cake to blow them out – only for Ruby’s efforts to end up singing Bill’s left eyebrow clean off!

Yes, that probably would be a mortifying moment.

As she worked on her bake, co-host asked if Ruby liked Bill, and she quipped in reply: ‘Yes! Why do you think I’m doing it – because I wanted a free computer?’

When it came to judgement time, both Paul and Prue praised her efforts, with Ruby presenting her meringue face – quite rightly – with two lit flares and candles over the left eyebrow.

Prue complimented Ruby on the likeness to the billionaire, with Ruby responding that she had felt all day ‘no, it’s Rowan Atkinson’.

‘It’s like a cappuccino,’ commented Paul while Prue called it ‘lovely’ and ‘really good’.

However, with everyone rising to the challenge with tricky meringue, meringue Bill Gates did not clinch Ruby the victory.

Gareth already had a coveted Paul Hollywood handshake banked following the initial turnover challenge, and second place behind Ruby with his chocolate fondant, so it was the music man that ultimately triumphed.

The Great British Bake Off: Stand Up to Cancer returns next Tuesday at 8pm on Channel 4.
