The One Show has been a stalwart BBC fixture since it first aired many moons ago.
During its run, the series has had a whole host of presenters, journalists, and experts on current affairs.
But just how long has The One Show been on air – and which famous faces have fronted the BBC show?
Here is everything you need to know.
When did The One Show first air?
The One Show first aired as part of a one-month trial in 2006 – that’s a whopping 16 years ago.
The trial run was hosted by Adrian Chiles and Nadia Sawalha.
It was met with mixed reviews – with critics at the time calling it ‘abysmal’ and ‘pedestrian’, but the show consistently reached an average of 3.3 million viewers a night.
In July 2007, The One Show was back on air – and was scheduled to be broadcast every weekday for a year.
Who were the first presenters of The One Show?
After The One Show was given the greenlight following a successful trial, Myleene Klass took over presenting duties from Nadia Sawalha.
However, just months later, Klass gave birth to her daughter, Ava – and so Christine Bleakley was brought on to replace Klass while she was on maternity leave.
Bleakly ended up staying on as a presenter until 2010.
Who else has presented The One Show?
In 2010, it was announced that BBC Radio 2 presenter Chris Evans would take over from Chiles in hosting the Friday edition of the show.
When Chiles left the show in April 2010, Bleakley was joined by stand-in hosts until July, when she left the show too.
It was announced that Jason Mansford would replace Chiles while Alex Jones would replace Bleakley.
Mansford then left the show in November 2010, and was replaced temporarily by stand-in hosts, before former Blue Peter Matt Baker joined Jones as a permanent host.
Aside from temporary stand-in hosts while Jones was on maternity leave, Baker and Jones hosted The One Show from 2011 until 2020, when Baker announced he was leaving the show.
At the time, the BBC said they were not looking to replace Baker, with a spokesperson saying: ‘We are drawing on our existing family of presenters—made up of men and women—to present alongside Alex Jones.’

Jenas is a retired professional footballer and Ronan Keating is a singer known for being a member of boy band Boyzone.
In August 2021, ahead of the birth of her third child. She returned to the show in January 2022.
