If you’ve failed to get a 2024 ticket, no fear: through volunteering.
Applications to with Oxfam at the Worthy Farm festival on the last weekend of June are now open.
Whileis yet to be announced,for 200,000 lucky festival-goers and the only other opportunity to bag one comes in April through the re-sale.
But don’t feel too disheartened. Glastonbury tickets cost £360, so think of failing to get one as a, er, investment.
But you can attend Glastonbury, and many other UK festivals this year for free as a volunteer.
Volunteering can take many forms, including checking tickets and wristbands, cleaning toilets, patrolling campsites and arenas, and even campaigning with flyers.
Charities to work for at UK festivals in 2024 include Oxfam, Wateraid, and Greenpeace.
How to get into Glastonbury 2024 through Oxfam volunteering
Oxfam are taking applications for their roster of 2024 volunteers, and they’re recruiting 8,500 people across all the festivals they work at.

The charity does require a deposit equal to the ticket price of the festival – but it’s capped at £250 for the likes of Glastonbury, and the amount will be paid back to you within six weeks of your last event of the year with them.
Be warned though, if for some reason you do not turn up to the job, you will never be able to work for the charity at a festival again, and your deposit will be lost forever – albeit for a good cause.
All volunteers will receive free online training before the festival, and once there they will get access to crew loos and hot showers, a meal token per shift, and free phone charging facilities.
If you’re not fussed about Glastonbury, you can also volunteer with Oxfam at other UK festivals including 2000 Trees, Arctangent, Bearded Theory, Beautiful Days, Boardmasters, Boomtown Fair, Download, Isle of Wight, Latitude, Reading, Leeds, Wilderness, Shambala, and Womad.
Which charities to volunteer for at UK festivals in 2024
While Oxfam have the biggest presence of any charity at UK festivals, there are other volunteering options to consider.
WaterAid are looking for volunteers for a number of festivals in 2024, including Glastonbury, Camp Bestival, Boomtown, Green Man, Shambala, and Pilton Party.
Volunteers will receive online training, and roles include sanitation crews responsible for toilet cleanliness, water crews who work to keep festival-goers hydrated, and hygiene crews who keep showers and sinks ticking over.
Bear in mind that most of their roles involve cleaning, and at Glastonbury over half the positions include scrubbing away at toilets.
Environmental activists Greenpeace distributed volunteers across Latitude, Glastonbury, and Womad last year, and 2024 volunteers applications will open soon.
Jobs include spreading Greenpeace’s mission, serving up hot food and drinks in a café, and generally making sure campsites are looking good.
Housing charity Shelter have sent volunteers to Glastonbury for 10 years, but in 2024 they are no longer.
