Hugh Jackman and wife Deborra-Lee Furness have announced their after 27 years of marriage.
The Logan actor, 54, and Correlli actress, 67, got married in 1996 and went on to welcome children Ava and Oscar together.
However, in a joint statement, they confirmed that they will be going their separate ways.
‘We have been blessed to share almost 3 decades together as husband and wife in a wonderful, loving marriage,’ it read. ‘Our journey now is shifting and we have decided to separate to pursue our individual growth.
‘Our family has been and always will be our highest priority. We undertake this next chapter with gratitude, love, and kindness.
‘We greatly appreciate your understanding in respecting our privacy as our family navigates this transition in all of our lives.’
The message, shared with , concluded: ‘This is the sole statement either of us will make.’
Hugh and Deborra-Lee first met on the set of Correlli in 1995, and instantly became inseparable, with the Wolverine actor getting down on one knee just months later.
Following a whirlwind romance, they tied the knot in April, 1996, in Australia – and they later adopted son Oscar and daughter Ava.
Unpacking their relationship during a candid chat with Willie Geist on the Sunday Today Show in 2018, he said: ‘I knew two weeks in to meeting Deb that we were going to be together for the rest of our lives.
‘In the end, what do you want from your life partner? You want to be fully seen and you want to be able to fully see them for exactly who (they) really are. And Deb and I had that from the beginning.’
Hugh later raved about their marriage in a chat on the Ellen DeGeneres show, telling the host their bond ‘gets better and better’ with time.
‘She’s the greatest thing that ever happened to me,’ he insisted. ‘I’m really grateful that I met her before anything kind of happened … Everything that’s happened in my career and onscreen, offscreen, we’ve always done it together.’
News of their split may come as a shock as the pair were spotted taking their seats for the Wimbledon men’s final in July, watching the action together from the stands.
They also celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary just a few months ago, with Hugh sharing a dedicating a loving social media post to his now-ex.
Taking to Instagram, the superhero star shared a snap as they embraced, with the caption: ‘I love you Deb. Today is our 27th wedding anniversary. 27 YEARS!! I love you so much.
‘Together we have created a beautiful family. And life. Your laughter, your spirit, generosity, humor, cheekiness, courage and loyalty is an incredible gift to me. I love you with all my heart.’
