It’s been 10 years since ’s Katniss Everdeen entered the arena in the first film, fighting for her life as the Capitol watched with bloodthirsty amusement.
A decade later, several of the movie’s stars, including , and , have , leaving fans bewildered by how quickly the time has flown by.
In the first two instalments, Lenny played Cinna, a creative stylist from the Capitol who became an ally of Katniss’, with his loyalty eventually resulting in him being Ki**ed right in front of the protagonist.
In a Twitter and Instagram post, the Fly Away singer shared a picture of his character sitting on an armchair in a poster, decked out in a suave black ensemble and his signature gold eyeliner.
‘It’s been 10 years since I portrayed the character Cinna in the premiere of The Hunger Games, and later Catching Fire,’ he wrote, as one Instagram user remarked that he ‘stole the show’.
Elizabeth, who looked unrecognisable in the film series as District 12 chaperone Effie Trinket, shared a compilation on social media of fans creating fan art and cosplays of the eccentric and ever-quotable character.
‘Happy 10th birthday @thehungergames! ? Thank you all so much for all the love and support you have shown for this franchise and Effie throughout these past 10 years,’ she wrote.
‘It’s because of you that Effie’s voice lives on! Happy #HungerGames and may the odds be ever in your favor,’ she added, signing off with one of Effie’s most memorable lines.
Jack Quaid, recently known for starring as Hughie Campbell in The Boys, made his acting debut in The Hunger Games playing Marvel, the tribute who caused the tragic death of Katniss’ friend, Rue (Amandla Stenberg).
The actor shared a series of behind-the-scenes shots on Twitter and Instagram, writing in the caption that he ‘couldn’t believe’ that he was cast in the movie.
‘HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY TO @thehungergames!!!! Here’s some blurry photos most likely taken on an iPhone 1 that bring me back to that time. It was my first big job ever. I still couldn’t believe I actually went in for an audition and booked something,’ he wrote.
‘I always thought my first job would be the best friend in a rom com, not a savage child murderer but hey… a gig’s a gig.’
Jack said that he was ‘so nervous, so inexperienced and so far away from home’ at the time, but the people he met helped make North Carolina ‘feel like a second home to me’.
‘Every single member of the cast and crew was so wonderful and kind. Still can’t thank them enough for making my first big job feel like a big party,’ he stated.
‘That was the first time I truly fell in love with being on a set. So thank you, Hunger Games. May the odds be ever your favor. Sorry for killing Rue. #thehungergames #marvel #happyanniversary.’
Amandla commented underneath the post, writing ‘miss u brother’, while also joking that he was the ‘most ideal person to be murdered by’.
Dayo Okeniyi, who played District 11’s Thresh, also commented: ‘What a ride. 10 YEARS.’
Following the release of the final Hunger Games movie in 2015, , The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, is currently in development.
The tale will delve into the backstory of Coriolanus Snow, who would go on to become Katniss’ enemy.
