I Hate Suzie: Series 2 of Billie Piper drama confirmed for late 2022 release

Fans ofwill be in for an absolute treat when the comedy-drama returns for a series 2 on Sky later this year. 

Secret Diary Of A Call Girl writer Lucy Prebble teamed up with Billie Piper for the 2020 series, which was. 

The former star plays a former pop star turned sci-fi actor, Suzie Pickles, in what could be considered a remarkably familiar story.

It begins just as Suzie’s set for a career boost by being cast as a princess before her life takes a turn when a hacker leaks her n**ed.n**ed pictures.

But things go from bad to worse when it emerges the stolen pictures feature the penis of a man who is not her husband Cob (Daniel Ings).

Fans were quickly left begging for more after binge-watching the loaded series, and now there’s just a few months left to wait. 

Sky has revealed Suzie will be back later this year, ‘just in time for Christmas’.

In February 2021, it was for a second batch of episodes, with filming set to take place in 2022. 

The broadcaster tweeted at the time: ‘We are so excited to continue the journey of Suzie Pickles. Filming starts in 2022. More news to come (our lips are sealed until then).’

Alongside Billie, Innocent’s Leila Farzad stars Suzie’s close friend and manager Naomi, while The Crown’s Daniel Ings stars as Cob.

In a previous interview with, she revealed that the script for the first season wasn’t autobiographical, but did draw from elements of her life, including her dealings with anxiety. 

Billie shared: ‘I think I’m just coming to terms with the fact that I actually have quite acute anxiety, and I know I managed that as a kid. Also, nobody was talking about it, so you couldn’t name it, and therefore it can often go unnoticed.’

It comes as Sky has today announced its largest ever slate of new programming to be shown through 2022 and beyond, including a raft of new commissions across drama, comedy and original film.

Sky will launch over 200 Sky Original shows across all genres this year, featuring world-class talent including Kenneth Branagh, Suranne Jones, Katherine Ryan, Romesh Ranganathan, Keeley Hawes and Sheridan Smith.
