Evanna Lynch stole fans’ hearts as the ethereal Luna Lovegood in despite only appearing in four of the eight films.
Luna was , nicknamed ‘Looney Lovegood’ by other students for her alternative thinking and away-with-the-fairies persona.
Although she was a fellow student, it wasn’t until the fifth film that the ditzy blonde appeared.
She quickly befriended Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) and shared a bond with him over invisible death horses, joining his group and becoming a key figure in the story.
It seems secretly stole another heart on set, that of her co-star Robbie Jarvis who joined the franchise the same year, playing James Potter.
The pair dated for nine years, keeping things out of the public eye despite the high-profile nature of the franchise and incredibly dedicated fans.
They met in 2006 on the set of the fifth film, with Evanna landing the part the year before aged just 14, beating 15,000 other girls.
Robbie, then 20, joined the same year as the younger version of Harry’s father, entering into an already incredibly close cast and crew.
They bonded and began dating, staying together for nine years before splitting in 2016.
Both kept things fairly low-key, with only a few posts and public appearances over their almost decade-long relationship.
Evanna did convince Robbie to turn to a more plant-based diet, as she herself is vegan and has been a major activist for animal welfare over the years.
In May 2015, she wished her ‘sweetest boy’ a ‘happy 29th birthday’ on Instagram, revealing they were off to see a show together.
Although the pair have parted ways, they are thought to have remained close friends.
Evanna has appeared in films, tv shows, and theatre productions since the behemoth franchise ended in 2011 but also wrote a memoir, opening up about her struggles with anorexia and fame.
She revealed in 2020 that she had ‘overblown’ expectations of her life after appearing in Harry Potter, which reality fell short of.
‘Sometimes I’ll meet [fans] at conventions and at plays, and I’ll meet them after that and they’ll be like, “Why are not you doing blockbuster movies” and I’m like, “Yeah, why am I not? I don’t know, I just didn’t feel like it, that’s all”,’ the now 31-year-old said.
‘They have no concept of how cutthroat the industry is.’
