Catchpole reportedly died on Friday at the age of 45, with a source stating that You Give Me Something singer Morrison, 39, has been left ‘devastated’.Â
On Thursday, just the day before her death, Morrison shared an Instagram post of him sitting in a recording studio while playing the guitar. His back was towards the camera but it appeared he was working on new music as a computer monitor showed tracks being laid down.
He captioned the Instagram post: ‘New year, new adventure…,’ seemingly teasing that new music was on the way in 2024.
Morrison released his last album, You’re Stronger Than You Know, in 2019 and it was inspired by , five, being born 13 weeks prematurely; Morrison and Catchpole also share 15-year-old daughter Elsie.Â
The Broken Strings singer has been bombarded with support from his fans and friends, including celebrity illusionist Dynamo – real name Steven Frayne – who commented under the photo: ‘Incredibly sorry for your loss bro. Sending my condolences.’Â
It’s said Catchpole’s death isn’t being treated as suspicious and that Morrison is being supported by family through his grief, according to.Â
Catchpole reportedly owned local café, the Cotswold Sandwich Box, and it was closed on Saturday with police cars seen outside.
A source told the outlet ‘the whole village is in complete shock at what has happened. Gill was a lovely woman and they were a beautiful family.
‘He is holding it together for their girls but has asked for the family to be left alone to grieve in private,’ the insider added.
It has since emerged that Catchpole, who began dating the musician when she moved into his mum’s house as a lodger, was looking for a house to rent just days before she died.
A message in a local Facebook group from her account read: ‘Looking for a house to rent in Whitminster ASAP. Please contact me if anyone knows or hears of anything. TIA [thank you in advance].’
