has shown her support for sister ’s pregnancy announcement post on Instagram, despite the siblings recently being in a war of words.
The Toxic singer, 40, announced the news that she is expecting in the post that she shared after her recent trip to Maui.
Despite the happy news, none of Britney’s family have offered public statements regards the pregnancy, including mum Lynn Spears, 66, with Jamie’s like of the post appearing to be the first public acknowledgment.
The post prompted a host of likes and congratulations from fans and fellow celebrities, including pal , 41, who expressed her heartfelt excitement at the news.
Despite the response from her, Jamie, 31, has shared a tense relationship with her sister in recent months since the release of her tell-all memoir, leading Britney to slam her for telling ‘lies’.
The sisters have been engaged in a long-running dispute, which started in 2017 when Jamie performed remixed versions of Britney’s songs, and .
Mum-of-two Jamie didn’t appear to comment any further on the news, which was announced as she celebrated one of her children’s fourth birthdays.
In the post, she wrote: ‘Happy 4th birthday Ivey. I could go on and on about all the many ways you have made our lives so much better, but I’ll save that for when you can actually read.’
Britney and partner Sam, 28, announced that they were expecting their first child together in separate posts on their Instagram accounts.
Britney’s message, which featured a picture of cup of coffee in a pink saucer, said: ‘I lost so much weight to go on my Maui trip only to gain it back,’ she began the lengthy post, describing Sam as her ‘husband’. ‘I thought “Geez… What happened to my stomach???”
‘My husband said, “No you’re food pregnant silly!!!” So I got a pregnancy test…and uhhhhh well… I am having a baby… ??
‘4 days later I got a little more food pregnant ????? It’s growing !!! If 2 are in there… I might just loose it… I obviously won’t be going out as much due to the paps getting their money shot of me like they unfortunately already have (sic).’
Speaking about the tough time she had in a previous pregnancy, Britney continued: ’It’s hard because when I was pregnant I had perinatal depression… I have to say it is absolutely horrible…
‘Women didn’t talk about it back then… Some people considered it dangerous if a woman complained like that with a baby inside her…
‘But now women talk about it everyday… thank Jesus we don’t have to keep that pain a reserved proper secret…’
She concluded the post: ‘This time I will be doing yoga every day!!! Spreading lots of joy and love!!!’
The news comes , which saw her engaged in a lengthy battle to gain control over her life.
She had been in the conservatorship,, 69, among others, since 2008, when it was ruled in court that it should end in November 2021.
Britney, who shares sons Sean, 16, and Jayden, 15, with ex-husband Kevin Federline, 44, had previously spoken out about her desire to have more children, as well as dropping hints recently that she was pregnant.

Joined by a friend, he was spotted by a paparazzo walking down the street alongside a friend when he was asked for his thoughts on Britney’s pregnancy.
However, the man could barely finish his question when Justin promptly shut him down, swiping the videographer away with his hand and joking: ‘Stop! Go away.’
After walking up the stairs silently but clearly a little miffed, he complained to his friend: ‘[He] got me stomping my feet.’
