And while the star said it was an ‘immediate yes’ when she was, it wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows.
In her previous I’m A Celeb stint, Janice was famously bitten by a rat in camp – which she ‘still has bad dreams’ about – and this time around feared her eyes would be pecked out by birds while she slept.
As for how South Africa compared to Australia, Janice said this experience was ‘much more pleasant’.
‘The , the surroundings, there didn’t seem to be as many rodents coming into the campsite as there was in Australia.’
But where there weren’t rodents, there were birds, and one of her biggest new experiences was ‘getting through the night.’
‘Some birds were landing by my cot, I think they were vultures. Huge black birds, going’ – here she did a fairly impressive imitation of a squawk – ‘right by my ear.
‘I was scared they were going to peck my eyes out or something. I was sleeping under my sleeping bag with the zipper all the way up to my head, feeling that something’s going to crawl into my bed at night. It’s quite scary.’
Elsewhere in the same chat, Janice joked she was left ‘depressed’ when her luxury item – a bright shade of lipstick – was taken away from her.
‘I brought in a bright shade of lipstick and I was prepared to wear that every morning. I wear bright lipstick and that’s who I am. They took my lipstick away so I felt depressed.’
As for what audiences can expect from the new series, Janice revealed that there was ‘lots of laughter and lots of tears’, on par with a ‘soap opera.’
