The comedians have been close friends for more than two decades after originally meeting at comedy venue The Buzz Club in Chorlton, .
During an appearance on a radio show, Jason told listeners to ‘keep an eye out’ for news on Peter’s tour.
‘He’s great, Pete,’ Jason said. ‘We’ve known each other a long time, it must be 25 years. It’s been a hell of a ride. He’s just an absolute legend isn’t he?’
Continuing to Dublin radio station FM104’s Strawberry Alarm Clock show, he said: ‘What a treasure. Hopefully back himself soon, doing stand-up, so keep your eye out for his tour. Not that he needs you to buy a ticket as much as I do.’
The legendary comedian recently returned to the stage for his first tour in 11 years with his Dance For Life shows, which are raising money for Cancer Research.
He delighted the crowd as he performed at the Manchester Central Convention Complex last month.
Peter was set to tour in 2018 but had cancel his sold-out dates for his Live Arena Tour show due to ‘unforeseen family circumstances’.
In a statement released on Facebook at the time, Peter had said: ‘Due to unforeseen family circumstances, I deeply regret that I am having to cancel all of my upcoming work projects.
‘My apologies. I’m sure you’ll understand that my family must always come first.’
The 48-year-old star, who also popped up during BBC’s Big Night In during the Covid-19 pandemic, appeared in August last year and fans were thrilled to see him, giving him a standing ovation.
‘I’ve never in my life had a standing ovation when I came on,’ he told the crowd at the time, heartened by the reaction.
‘I’m going to go away for four more years.’
