has hit back at claims that he walked away from after less than an hour into filming.

In the upcoming episodes, we will see the new batch of celebs sent off to the New Zealand wilderness, and they’ll be put through their paces by instructors Rudy Reyes, Remi Adeleke, Jason ‘Foxy’ Fox and Mark ‘Billy Billingham’.

The gruelling Channel 4 programme has been hailed the most ‘brutal’ show around, and reports claimed that the former Dancing on Ice judge, 56, quit after the first day.

However, he has since tweeted a response to an article that alleged that he had stepped down from the programme after less than an hour on the first day of filming.

In the tweet, Barrowman urged people to ‘watch the show and see the truth’ when it comes out on the show, and not to spread ‘unsubstantiated information’ when they ‘don’t know the facts’.

‘The cast of our series stand by each other,’ he added.

In another tweet, the 56-year-old responded to someone who speculated that he might have signed an NDA to ‘prevent’ him from ‘speaking his truth’.

‘No NDA I just have respect for @Channel4 the production company  and the story they are going to truthfully tell. Jb,’ he replied.

A source previously told that his alleged exit would ‘go down in the show’s history as the fastest ever’.

‘Most of the stars were shocked when after 30 minutes John said he did not want to take part any longer,’ the insider had claimed.

The publication had also claimed that the Torchwood actor was flown back to the UK immediately after returning to the hotel where the celebs were in quarantine.

ITV announced that the singer would no longer be part of the programme after he said he had taken part in ‘tomfoolery’ on the sets of BBC shows Doctor Who.

Following the claims, Barrowman appeared on Lorraine and insisted his ‘silly behaviour’ had been exaggerated.

‘It was silly behaviour, it was being done in the confines of the set and we were like a family working together,’ he said in 2021.

‘The fact it was stories that were already told, I haven’t hidden anything, they’ve been exaggerated, and they’ve tried to turn it into sexual harassment which is absolutely not.

He went on to stress: ‘All the people who making a fuss about it weren’t there,’ before adding: ‘I would never do it now.’

‘We’re not allowing people to learn to adapt and to change which is the most important thing… we’ve moved on and from this point, as I say with you, I want to move on and continue to move forward.’
