John Cena extends bombshell WWE comeback with seven new SmackDown dates

is returning to SmackDown this week and he’s got some big plans over the next couple months.

The wrestler turned Hollywood megastar on September 8 at the GMC Balayogi Indoor Stadium, which marks the company’s first live event in India since 2017.

Cena will be teaming up with Seth Rollins to take on Imperium duo Ludwig Kaiser and Giovanni Vinci.

Ahead of that show, the 16-time world champion will be back on SmackDown for a special appearance, but it turns out he and WWE have more in the pipeline.

In a press release, the company said: ‘[Cena] will also appear on Friday Night SmackDown for seven consecutive weeks beginning Friday, September 15 at Ball Arena in Denver through the end of October.’

This means the legendary wrestler will be in the house for upcoming events in Denver, Glendale, Sacramento, St Louis, Tulsa, San Antonio and Milwaukee.

As well as seemingly confirming Cena will be appearing on screen, WWE also revealed he will be continuing his amazing work for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

They added: ‘Throughout his SmackDown return, Cena in partnership with Make-A-Wish will host children and their families in each of the eight cities to experience a WWE event in-person.

‘For 40 years, WWE and Make-A-Wish have granted the wishes of children with life-threatening illnesses who desire to meet their favorite WWE Superstars.

‘Cena is the most requested wish granter of all time, having granted more than 650 wishes for children across the globe.’

Cena’s last match came in at WrestleMania 39 back in April, while in July he made a surprise appearance at Money In The Bank in London.

He delighter fans at The O2 arena when he came out unannounced and led calls for the UK capital .

He was interrupted by rising SmackDown star Grayson Waller as the Aussie called on the annual showcase to come to his homeland, but the loudmouth got laid out by Cena’s signature Attitude Adjustment move.

Meanwhile, the fan favourite was among those to pay tribute to late WWE icon Bray Wyatt – real name Windham Rotunda – following.

Taking to Twitter, formerly known as X, he wrote: ‘Devastated by the news of the passing of Windham Rotunda. My heart goes out to the entire Rotunda family.

‘Windham brought the best out of me in so many ways. I’m forever grateful for the moments we shared. A sad day for all those he reached around the world. RIP.’
