When Johnny was three years old, his family moved to Portland, Oregon, where he graduated from Franklin High School in 1974.
He developed his stage persona of Johnny Counterfit as an impressionist, singer, comic, and actor in his early twenties.
He started impersonating cartoon characters as a toddler and subsequently expanded his range to over 150 voices, including Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, and Frank Sinatra.
