’s Twitter account has been suspended again, just hours after it appeared to have returned.
The rapper, 46, was first suspended from the platform in November 2022, having been restricted for tweeting
he was suspended again in December 2022 after sharing an image of a swastika blended with a star of David.
But, his account looked to be back up and running, although the musician – known as Ye – had yet to tweet.
He didn’t get a chance to do so though, as just a few hours later, his account appeared to be suspended again.
His brief return comes after Musk admitted he ‘tried’ to keep West’s account active.
Musk tweeted: ‘I tried my best. Despite that, he again violated our rule against incitement to violence. Account will be suspended.’
The Twitter/X owner previously described his approach to content moderation as: ‘If in doubt, let the speech exist.’
Following his antisemitic comments on both Twitter and Instagram, West’s career plummeted in other aspects.
Adidas said it was ending production of the Yeezy-branded products, a fashion collaboration with West, with ‘immediate effect,’ describing his remarks as ‘unacceptable, hateful and dangerous.’
West’s ex-wife Kim Kardashian – who he split from last February – has also addressed his controversies.
Speaking on The Kardashians recently, the Skims founder burst into tears.
after her ex hit the headlines, admitting that her ‘instinct’ over the controversy was: ‘Wow, I can never talk to this person again,’ but this changed when she thought of her kids.
The reality star was married to Kanye from 2014 to 2022 and shares four children with him: North, Saint, Psalm and Chicago.
In the episode, Kim talked to Khloé after an article appeared on-screen about West’s antisemitic comments, which also mentions him wearing a t-shirt embossed with a slogan that read ‘White Lives Matter’.
Kim stressed that she was ‘not ok’ as she broke down, saying West is no longer ‘the person I married’.
This isn’t the first time Musk has reinstated a controversial Twitter account.
Late last year, was also reinstated on Twitter following a poll from Musk.
It reversed a ban that kept the former US President off his favourite social media platform in the wake of the deadly riot on January 6, 2021.
Musk made the announcement after holding a vote asking Twitter users to click ‘yes’ or ‘no’ on whether Trump should be allowed back.
The ‘yes’ vote won with 51.8%.
