Kate Lawler has revealed she was rushed to hospital on Tuesday following a mystery illness, describing the ordeal as a ‘wake up call’.
The Big Brother winner, who recently recalled how during the lowest point in her postnatal depression to prevent doing something she’d regret, shared news of her A&E dash on social media.
‘Yesterday was pretty strange,’ Kate penned on her Instagram Story alongside a selfie. ‘Long story but I ended up in hospital.
‘Got home at 9pm and feeling much better today. I need to make some changes in order to feel better, both mentally and physically.’
She continued: ‘But it’s easy to forget to look after yourself when you’re juggling so much. Still, it’s given me a wake up call.’
In a separate update posted several hours later, Kate thanked her followers for their good wishes.
‘Thanks for all of your kind messages,’ she said next to a picture of her chipped manicure.
‘Honestly though, you should be more concerned about the state of my gel nails. One of which I picked off earlier on.’
Kate’s trip to the hospital comes after a candid interview on ITV’s Lorraine about her struggle with postnatal depression following the birth of her daughter Noa last year.
‘For a lot of those early newborn days, I was struggling every day,’ Kate the programme.
Explaining the moment where she had to put little Noa on the bed and walk away, Kate said: ‘That was the moment I hit rock bottom when I was in the deepest, darkest depths of postnatal depression.
‘I had terrible thoughts about what I might do to myself and Noa.’ Â
