As the audience cheered, Christine asked if Katie was ‘adjusting’ to the new look.

‘I am, but when you change your hair colour you have to change your make-up, your wardrobe, your jewellery,’ she said.

‘I’ve been experimenting with my hair a lot over the years, and I quiet enjoy doing it and never get frightened doing it.

‘I’ve been jet black, I’ve been white-blonde, and I now have different foundations in my make-up kit.’

She went on to say she liked being ‘fluid’ and having fun experimenting with different hair colours.

Just before the show, Katie shared some photos and videos of her new hair, captioning a post: ‘New hair, who dis? Ready for today’s Loose Women.’

The hair change comes a month after Katie explained how she was undergoing eye surgery to ‘preserve the eye, avoid perforation and losing my eye completely’.

‘I’ve had a lot of problems with my eye in the last year and a half, I don’t like to go on about it because there’s always somebody worse off.

‘It’s been quite painful so it’s quite a relief for me to finally have it stitched up, because it’s a lot more comfortable.’

She went on to share it wouldn’t be permanent and was set to be opened again after a year.
