Medical emergencies are always stressful but has shared that mum, Amy, nearly missed vital treatment when blocked the road.
When speaking to on his Private Parts, Katie revealed that the ambulance with her mum ended up back in November.
Just Stop Oil have been involved in a lot of controversy as many don’t agree with the methods of protest used by the climate activists.
The collective is a ‘nonviolent civil resistance group demanding the UK Government stop licensing all new oil, gas and coal projects’.
It turns out Katie’s mum was offered a life-saving operation with only two weeks to live when the disruptions were taking place last year.
Amy Price, 71, was in need of a lung transplant and on the way to hospital when the protestors were halting traffic on the M25, the exact road she needed.
‘Mum had two weeks left to live at the time. She found a donor. She was waiting five years for a lung,’ shared Katie on the podcast.
Amy was diagnosed with chronic lung disease idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis in 2017 and needed a lung transplant to save her life.
Doctors must find a suitable donor and have to operate almost instantly to make the organ viable for surgery.
Katie, continued: ‘It was the day all the oil protesters were on the M25 and you have three hours to get to hospital otherwise you can’t have the donor [organ]. So they had to get an ambulance.
‘When they were on the motorway, they didn’t realise. They had to go up the hard shoulder, and get an ambulance to get through it, because if you’re not there you lose it [the lung].’
Thankfully, Amy was able to get the surgery despite the protests and her daughter thanked the NHS staff for their help.
However, it wasn’t all smooth sailing as Amy revealed on The Katie Price Show, saying: ‘I went into cardiac arrest and they had to pump me to bring me back and I didn’t know that…
‘Apparently I was shouting out, “I can’t breath, I can’t breathe, they’re killing me”. That’s because I was filling up with blood but what I can remember was dreaming, thinking, “I’ve got to survive till five o’clock. They’re trying to kill me.”
‘I’m hot, I’m sweaty, I can’t breathe. I thought, “Five o’clock, the nurses change so these two nurses, people that are trying to kill me, right, they go home”.
‘So I was counting strips on the wall, thinking, “Right as I’ll do that one, breathe slower and then you save your energy a bit more”.’
Amy is now feeling much better but Katie has been in a spot of trouble too, although not the medical kind as the police contacted her over a recent revelation.
The 45-year-old revealed she’s been in in preparation for a new TV show she wants to make.
Police issued a warning to the mum-of-five about communicating with the man but Katie has not stopped communication.
On top of this, she has adopted a new puppy Tank but received backlash for appearing to while on a TikTok live.
There is already a 36,000 signature strong petition against her owning pets as seven, including five dogs, have died of unnatural causes in her care.
