Kelvin Fletcher and wife Liz reveal they’re expecting twin boys

Former champion and his wife Liz Marsland have said they ‘feel so lucky’ and have ‘never felt joy like it’ as they revealed they are expecting twin boys.

The star, who played Andy Sugden for 20 years, and his wife, who married in November 2015, already have daughter Marnie, aged five, and son Milo, three.

‘We’ve already got the best of both worlds with Marnie and Milo, so I didn’t mind either way, but finding out we’re having sons is amazing,’ Kelvin told .

‘It was the best day of my life. It was a moment of complete disbelief. I’ve never felt joy like it.’

Liz, who is due to , said she felt ‘every single emotion under the sun’ after learning the news.

‘First, there’s double the worry. I thought about things like breastfeeding, how is that possible with two? How do you pick up two babies at the same time?

‘I felt all of this in the space of 30 seconds. Kelvin was saying it’s a miracle, and I was thinking “How are we going to do this?”

‘But now we can’t imagine it any other way. We feel so lucky.’

The couple initially  but revealed they would be adding two more to their brood to presenters  and  on in January, with Kelvin joking at the time that they ‘don’t really do things by halves’.

The 38-year-old is sure to have his hands full as he’s also set to star in a National Theatre production of Richard Bean’s comedy Jack Absolute Flies Again alongside Caroline Quentin in July, with rehearsals kicking off just weeks after his wife is due to give birth to their twin boys.

While the performer called his upcoming stage gig at the renowned venue ‘the biggest box to tick as an actor’, his wife admitted it ‘may bring some challenges’ as they juggle the new additions to their family with Kelvin treading the boards – and not to mention their farm.

The six-part series saw the family ‘de-camp to the countryside’ for the summer to build a new life on their 120-acre farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park.

Kelvin recently labelled comparisons between Kelvin’s Big Farming Adventure and ’s Clarkson’s Farm as ‘unfair’, insisiting that theirs .

The star rose to fame on ITV soap Emmerdale between 1996 and 2016, before alongside professional partner Oti Mabuse after being a last-minute replacement for an injured Jamie Laing.
