In 2014, the 49-year-old sued the Tik Tok hitmaker, 36, for defamation, accusing the popstar of fabricating a rape allegation to get out of her recording contract.

The Praying singer, full name Kesha Rose Sebert, wanted to be released from Kemosabe Records, owned by Dr Luke under the umbrella of Sony Music Entertainment.

In a statement shared on Kesha’s Instagram page, she wrote: ‘Only God knows what happened that night.

Record producer Dr Luke – real name Lukasz Sebastian Gottwald – added in his statement: ‘While I appreciate Kesha again acknowledging that she cannot recount what happened that night in 2005, I am absolutely certain that nothing happened.

‘I never drugged or assaulted her and would never do that to anyone. For the sake of my family, I have vigorously fought to clear my name for nearly 10 years. It is time for me to put this difficult matter behind me and move on with my life. I wish Kesha well.’

After dropping the case back in 2016, Kesha submitted over 28 songs to her label Sony in order to fulfill its requirements.

Dr Luke later filed a lawsuit against Kesha for $50million over claims of loss of earnings from sexual assault allegations; the producer was claiming he lost out on lucrative deals following Kesha’s accusations of sexual assault, including one which would have seen him work with US singer Katy Perry.
