Kim Cattrall has delighted fans by confirming that her character Samantha will be appearing in sequel series And Just Like That.
The Liverpool-born Canadian actress, 66, became best known for in the ground-breaking series between 1998 and 2004.
She then appeared in both sequel films, first in 2008 and 2010, but was in 2018.
It was reported at the time that Kim had expressed doubts over certain storylines in the new show, including the sudden death of Chris Noth’s Mr. Big.
But after rumours about Samantha’s return began circulating on social media following the announcement of a second season, Kim has confirmed the news.
As she delighted Sex and the City fans everywhere, she also wished them all a ‘Happy Pride’, making sure the next few weeks are were kicked off in style.
Confirmation of Samantha’s appearance in And Just Like That was reported by , who say that Kim recorded her scenes three months ago.
However, it appears she filmed a cameo without any of the show’s other major stars, Sarah Jessica Parker, Cynthia Nixon, or Kristin Davies, being present.
And based on reports, it seems her appearance will be with Sarah’s Carrie Bradshaw – the content of their chat is unclear.
According to reports, Samantha will be seen (as opposed to just heard down a phone line) after Sex and the City costume pioneer Patricia Field designed her outfit.
During the first season of And Just Like That, Carrie and Samantha spoke to each other via text and plans were made for the two characters to meet up.
Whether that happens still remains unclear, despite the news of her return – fans will be hoping that a longer storyline for Samantha might come in season three.
Still, Sex and the City devotees are delighted that Kim has returned to the role in any shape or form after .
As late as last year, both Sarah and Cynthia said they couldn’t envision a future in which Kim returned to the Sex and the City-verse as Samantha.
