In a perhaps unbeatable pairing, the worlds of American reality and British documentary TV collided at this week’s premiere of when met Robert Winston.
The two were snapped shaking hands while enjoying the afterparty following .
Kim was , while professor, doctor and member of the House of Lords Robert – technically Robert Winston, Baron Winston if we’re being formal – looked smart in a pale three-piece suit matched with a dark shirt and tie.
Entrepreneur Kim seemed rather in awe to be meeting the eminent doctor, fertility expert and Imperial College London professor, giving him a double-handed handshake.
For those who might need their memory refreshing, 81-year-old Robert has enjoyed an enviable media career alongside his scientific and political pursuits.
He has fronted major shows including the long-running BBC show Your Life in Their Hands from 1979 to 1987, documentary Child of Our Time – which followed 25 children born at the start of the year 2000 until they were 20 – and 1998’s The Human Body, which was heralded as the BBC’s first major show on human biology and won multiple awards including Baftas and a Peabody.
Other successful TV projects include narrating the BBC’s Walking with Cavemen, Threads of Live, Child Against All Odds and Super Doctors.
Now, you might be wondering how exactly it is that Kim met Robert, other than of course talent attracts talent.
It’s not as bizarre as it first appears, though.
Robert’s son Ben Winston is in fact a producer on The Kardashians through his Fulwell 73 company, and it was him that blessed the world with evidence of his father’s introduction to 41-year-old Kim.
Taking to Instagram, he shared a clutch of photos, writing: ‘Launch of our new show last night @kardashianshulu @fulwell73productions – and it’s coming to Hulu next Thursday. Oh, and my favourite picture is the last one ??⚕️.’
The last one – as referenced by his doctor emoji – is that of Robert and Kim.
Outside The Kardashians, Ben has collaborated with major music stars on documentaries, including and One Direction, and has also co-produced both the Grammy and Tony awards previously.
He is also a co-executive producer on The Late Late Show with James Corden where, funnily enough, his father has also featured in recent years, presenting various scientific experiments for entertainment.
Well, when you have an expert in the family…
