Despite all the drama that has ensued between the former couple on social media over the last few months, Kim vowed that she will ‘always’ champion her ex – who she shares children North, Saint, Chicago and Psalm with.
‘You want to take the high road and sometimes it’s hard,’ she said in a new interview on ABC. ‘I’ve always been a champion of him speaking his truth.’
She also revealed that she has been ‘really open and honest’ with her children about the divorce, explaining that the oldest two, North and Saint, are aware of what is going on between them.
‘You have to just be there for them,’ she continued. ‘No matter what, even in this crazy life that we live, you just have to have a really open dialogue with your children.
‘Kanye and I have had conversations. We have to talk daily for the kids so you know, I hate that it had to play out like that. But when it comes to family, I mean, Kanye and I will always be family.
‘At the end of the day, I just want my kids to be happy and healthy, and think the world of their dad. And they do.’
Spilling the beans on her budding romance with Pete, she added that she was ‘very happy and very content’ with the Saturday Live star.
