Kourtney Kardashian has defended her Las Vegas wedding ceremony to Travis Barker after it was called ‘fake’.
The 42-year-old sent the world into a spin with the Blink-182 rocker, 46, in the early hours of Monday morning.
She later confirmed that , describing the ceremony as a ‘practice’.
Many upset fans have since called the pair out on social media, accusing them of staging a ‘publicity stunt’ in a bid to promote their new Hulu show, which is premiering next week.
Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live alongside her famous sisters, the mom-of-three hit back at the idea that they got ‘fake married’.
‘Kourtney I think you’re the Kardashian of the week this week because you went ahead and got fake married,’ the host said.
‘Well, we didn’t know you got fake married…’
Interrupting him, she clarified: ‘Well it’s not called fake married. There was no possibility to get a marriage license at that hour.’
A baffled Kim Kardashian asked: ‘Isn’t everything 24/7?’
Kourtney continued: ‘That’s what I thought! And I’m like, are you guys lying? We asked five times like, what do we have to do to make this happen?
‘It was 2am and they were like, it opens at 8 o’clock.
‘We just did it anyway, it’s what is in the heart.’
Fair play…
Mom Kris Jenner confirmed that she knew about their plans, with Khloe Kardashian on FaceTime for the ceremony, while Kim was fast asleep.
Travis popped the question in a very romantic setting last October, months after the couple made their romance official.
The lovebirds – dubbed Kravis – wandered in to the One Love Wedding Chapel at around 1.30am on Monday, just hours after the musician performed at the Grammys.
Sources raised question marks over their antics, explaining that they had a ceremony but that it wasn’t legal ‘on paper’.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashians star put paid to all the speculation, sharing a series of photos from their Elvis-themed bash.
‘Found these in my camera roll,’ she wrote on Instagram. ‘Once upon a time in a land far, far away (Las Vegas) at 2am, after an epic night and a little tequila, a queen and her handsome king ventured out to the only open chapel with an Elvis and got married (with no license).
‘Practice makes perfect.’
Fans weren’t impressed by the update, and accused them of trying to whip up attention for the upcoming series.
‘So, Kourtney & Travis aren’t married after all. She’s as bad as the rest of the family with her attention seeking behavior,’ one fumed on Twitter.
‘The entire fake wedding was nothing but a publicity stunt to hawk their new TV show. They’re garbage. #nomorekardashians.’
‘So they’re not legally married? So this was just pretend? So corny,’ a Reddit user penned.
‘So all for attention?! I hate when they say found one my camera roll when it was only 3 days ago,’ another agreed.
Well, as long as we nab an invite to the ‘real’ wedding…
