Lady Leshurr family
Melesha Katrina, better known by her stage name Lady Leshurr, was born to Kittitian parents on December 15, 1987. Since she was six years old, the British rapper has been passionate with poetry and writing. However, she decided that writing music would allow her to reach a wider audience, so she put out her first mixtape when she was fourteen.
It was a part of my upbringing, she claimed. When I was about six years old, I began experimenting and making up my own small songs and raps since my mother would constantly play reggae music by Sister Nancy and Bob Marley around the home. Everyone in my family is a rapper and singer, so I was involved in it from an early age.
Leshurr took a sabbatical from her music career when her sister passed away from breast cancer in late 2019.
