Lana Del Rey sparked confusion from her fans after she posed with a gun in her hand in a new Instagram picture.

The Summertime Sadness singer has had a rollercoaster week after losing out on a to pal – who .

Following the ceremony, the 38-year-old raised eyebrows when she shared a photo on Instagram, showing her stood in front of a mirror in a white dress.

As she took the selfie with one hand, her other hand appeared to be clutching a gun, leaving many concerned and confused.

Giving absolutely nothing away, she simply captioned the shot: ‘Always chilllling [sic].’

In the next slide, she posted , celebrating her headline slot.

Sliding into the comments below, fans questioned why she was holding a firearm in the snap.

‘Girl, finger off the trigger,’ one warned.

‘She said “for valentines I thought I’d buy a gun” [sic],’ another penned.

‘NOT THE GUN???,’ a follower yelled beside a string of crying emoji.

A baffled commenter posted: ‘Wait is that a gun lmao.’

While many more joked that it was a ‘warning to the Grammys’ after she failed to win the album of the year category.

Lana was tipped for a string of awards on Sunday, following the release of her ninth album, Did You Know That There’s A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd, last year.

The record earned her nods in the categories for best alternative music album, best alternative music performance, best pop duo / group performance and the coveted song of the year and album of the year trophies.

However, she walked away empty handed as Taylor took home the album of the year title, while Billie Eilish nabbed song of the year for What Was I Made For, from the Barbie soundtrack.

Taylor gave her a shout-out in her winner’s speech at the end of the ceremony, telling the star-studded crowd: ‘I think so many female artists would not be where they are, and would not have the inspiration that they have, if not for the work that she’s done.

‘I think she’s a legacy artist – a legend in her prime, right now. I’m so lucky to know you, and to be your friend.’
