Larry has now announced that season 12, premiering in February next yeara, will mark the final 10 episodes.
In a statement, he said: ‘As Curb comes to an end, I will now have the opportunity to finally shed this “Larry David” persona and become the person God intended me to be — the thoughtful, kind, caring, considerate human being I was until I got derailed by portraying this malignant character.
‘And so “Larry David,” I bid you farewell. Your misanthropy will not be missed.
‘And for those of you who would like to get in touch with me, you can reach me at Doctors Without Borders,’ he said as reported by Deadline.
Fans have been left devastated by the news, taking to Twitter, aka X, to share their feelings.
User Dan Marcus acknowledged ’12 seasons is a phenomenal run but I am going to miss Larry David so much.’
DJ Martinez said it was ‘absolutely heartbreaking,’ while Charlie Wilson dramatically declared it the ‘top three worst days of my life.’
Andy Sappington agreed it was a ‘sad day,’ while plenty described it as ‘the end of an era.’
It was previously reported this year that season 12 would be the last, however executive producer Jeff Schaffer insisted ‘reports of our demise have been greatly exaggerated.’
Larry stars in the show as an exaggerated fictional version of himself’it is HBO’s longest-running series, and won multiple awards including two Emmy Awards and a Golden Globe.
