Lego Super Mario showcase for MAR10 Day teases big reveals

The MAR10 celebrations include a new movie trailer, more 8 Deluxe DLC, and now a Lego showcase that’s teasing new reveals.

Nintendo has already begun its MAR10 Day celebrations ahead of the day itself this Friday. Although it was L***ed beforehand, the company recently unveiled that comes with a select Mario game of your choosing and promotional stickers for the Bros. movie.

Speaking of , that too will receive its final trailer the day before on Thursday, March 9, and it now turns out that the Lego company will have a themed showcase of its own on the day.

Exactly what will be shown isn’t known yet, but Lego has told fans to expect ‘big updates and even bigger reveals.’

The announcement is accompanied by some behind-the-scenes photos of host Jack Gardner preparing for the showcase, who can be seen holding the that came out last year.

Although it’s not a guarantee, the immediate assumption is that Lego will announce a new Mario set. After all, it unveiled , as well as debuted the Princess Peach figure.

Given the timing, it wouldn’t be surprising if it announced a Lego set based on the Super Mario Bros. movie since the showcase takes place the day after the new trailer premieres.

With the movie coming to cinemas in April, it’d make perfect sense for Lego to capitalise on it with a tie-in set or figures.

A link for the showcase isn’t available yet, but mentions that it’ll begin at 4pm GMT. Nintendo also adds that it’ll contain ‘exclusive content and a big reveal.’

There has been chatter of Lego releasing , with images of one leaking online last month, but fans probably shouldn’t expect to see it during a showcase that’s meant to be focusing on Super Mario.

This week will also see the launch of ’s fourth wave of DLC on Thursday, March 9 which adds Birdo as an extra playable character alongside the usual eight racetracks.

Most of the tracks return from previous games, including the Mario Kart Tour mobile title, but there’ll be an entirely original track .
