The 26-year-old singer was overjoyed after he was asked to test his limits on Youtubers’ First We Feast Hot Ones challenge show.
He battled his way through 10 increasingly spicy chicken wings while answering a series of quick-fire questions.
The hugely popular online series has a hall of fame that boasts names such as Jake Gyllenhaal, Niall Horan and Jennifer Lawrence as they hilariously tried some of the world’s hottest sauces.
Entitled ‘Lewis Capaldi Grasps for a Lifeline While Eating Spicy Wings’, the well-received video saw the star open up about his as he takes a step away from touring his songs.Â
He admitted mid-chicken wing: ‘I spend most of my time hating myself while writing songs and I think that’s fine, that’s ok – it’s my process.Â
‘I subject to the general public, the pain of listening to my music so I feel like I should have to suffer as well while I’m writing.’
Despite his sombre words during the challenge, the star revealed he was over the moon to have had the chance to taste the sauces that ultimately reduced him to tears.
He tweeted about wanting to be on the show back in 2018 on his own socials and penned a caption that expressed his feelings towards the experience.
Lewis said years before he appeared on the channel: ‘it is ma life long dream to be on that hot ones show on youtube [sic].’Â
Having achieved his goal, the singer thrilled fans who left words of praise for the hitmaker in the comment section.
One wrote on YouTube: ‘I love when the celebrity knows the show and you can tell that it’s not just for the interview. You can tell how much Lewis enjoys the show and Sean [sic].’Â
Another said: ‘Imagine doing an interview with Tourette’s and killing it! Love this man! Keep inspiring! [sic].’
The singer’s appearance on the hot wing challenge show came after he announced he was to get his ‘physical and mental health in order’ amid his Tourette’s diagnosis.Â
