Liam Gallagher has thanked fans for their support after revealing he needs a double hip replacement, and joked he’d be having some cosmetic procedures done too.
The Oasis star, 49, had and has chosen to manage the pain rather than undergo surgery.
Fans were quick to send him well-wishes after he spoke about the painful condition, however Liam handled it all in his inimitable way.
He tweeted: ‘Thanx for all the well wishes about my hips no need for all that coverage in the media esp when there’s a war going on.’
Liam then joked: ‘wait till I get my t*ts done big f**king massive knockers they’ll have an heart attack as you were LG x.’
Earlier in the week he had revealed he has arthritis as a result of a longstanding thyroid problem for which he takes painkillers rather than face the ‘stigma’ of having a hip replacement.
He told Mojo magazine: ‘My hips are f**ked… I’ve got arthritis, bad. I went to get it checked and my bones are mashed up.
‘The lady was going: “You might need a hip operation, a replacement” – no way. You’re all right… I think I’d rather just be in pain, which is ridiculous, obviously.
‘I know that – just get them fixed. But it’s also the stigma, saying you’ve had your hips replaced… What’s next?’
Liam did later confirm to a fan that he would undergo the operation in future when he has no other option, explaining: ‘Yeah man at some point I was being Fa sea shush (sic – facetious).’
He also detailed the other health problems he has faced, including getting acupuncture to help the pain in his calves,
Liam told the publication: ‘I’m definitely on the downwards slide, though. Oh yes. My eyes are f**ked, my hips are f**ked, got the old thyroid.
‘When the weather’s cold my hips are like, snap, crackle and pop … I need warmth.’
