’s daughter Lily-Rose Depp has celebrated turning 23 in the midst of her dad’s defamation trial with ex-wife .
The birthday girl cast her family’s legal woes aside to enjoy her special day, while her famous actor father awaits the verdict of the multi-million dollar trial.
Following weeks of intense sessions in court and emotional testimonies, the jury was sent home at the end of last week and is expected to return on Tuesday following Memorial Day in the US.
They will endeavour to reach a decision following deliberations as the Pirates of the Caribbean star, 58, is suing the Aquaman actress, 36, over an op-ed she wrote for the Washington Post in 2018, discussing her experience with domestic abuse.
Depp is claiming for damages to his livelihood and mental health, and he denies allegations of abuse.
But, it seemed none of the legal proceedings were on Lily-Rose’s mind as she donned a pink ensemble, complete with ‘Birthday princess’ sash, of course.
The French-American actress – whose mother is Vanessa Paradis – took to Instagram to mark her birthday, showing herself to be in good spirits, donning a lace top in a smiley snap.
Lily-Rose also shared a photo of a gorgeous bouquet she had received and was inundated with happy birthday messages in the comments.
Paris Hilton commented: ‘Happy Birthday beautiful ?’, while Squid Game star HoYeon Jung wrote: ‘Happy happy birthday ??❤️❤️❤️’
Lily-Rose’s after they started dating in 1998.
The former couple also share 20-year-old son, Jack.
Despite her parents’ fame – her dad’s in film and her mum’s in music – Lily-Rose has carved out quite the impressive career for herself, bagging major film roles.
An actress in her own right, she first appeared in the film Tusk in 2014 and went on to feature in The Dancer in 2016, Planetarium the same year, and The King alongside Timothee Chalamet in 2019.
Meanwhile, it recently came to light in court that her father called his ex Paradis in an email to Sir Elton John.
The court was from Depp, including one in which he referred to his former lover as the expletive.
Heard’s legal team had shown the court video and audio of ‘violent episodes’ the actor had had, as well as him .
During Depp’s testimony, he responded that Heard would bully him and call him names as well as threaten to harm herself if he left her. He also alleged that Heard had used hard drugs throughout their marriage.
He claimed that the actress had told him that he was a ‘bad father’ and that his two children did not like him, while he claimed it was in fact Heard that they didn’t like.
The trial continues and a verdict is expected at a later date.
