The Idol star Lily-Rose Depp found the act of performing to thousands so comfortable that never wanted to leave the stage.
HBO’s upcoming drama– which drops on Sunday June 4 – follows a self-help guru and leader of a modern-day cult, Tedros (The Weeknd), who with rising pop idol Jocelyn (Lily).
The programme is ‘set against the backdrop of the music industry’ and promises to showcase ‘the sleaziest love story in all of Hollywood.’
Actress Lily – daughter of and Vanessa Paradis – explained the powerful impact being in front of a stadium crowd had on her.
‘It was quite addicting,’ she told . I didn’t want to leave.’
‘But I was also thinking about Beyoncé, Mariah, and every huge pop star of our time. I wanted Jocelyn to be the kind of woman who can dominate a room, someone who doesn’t ever shy away from their sparkle,’ she added.
The Idol’s official synopsis reads: ‘After a nervous breakdown derailed Jocelyn’s last tour, she’s determined to claim her rightful status as the greatest and sexiest pop star in America. Her passions are reignited by Tedros, a nightclub impresario with a sordid past. Will her romantic awakening take her to glorious new heights or the deepest and darkest depths of her soul?’
In the full trailer which was released last month, fans witness Jocelyn taking part in a risqué photoshoot, while the character played by singer Troye Sivan asks: ‘When was the last truly-f***ing-nasty, nasty, bad pop-girl?’
The pop star is then whisked away to a club, where she meets Tedros (Abel Tesfaye) for the first time. The two dance together, before the teaser shows their relationship developing.

The Idol premieres on HBO for US viewers and Sky for UK viewers on Sunday June 4.
