In 2001 , Viggo was first introduced in The Fellowship of the Ring as a Ranger called Strider, before being revealed as Aragorn, the rightful King of Gondor.
Aragorn helped Frodo Baggins (Elijah Wood), Samwise Gamgee (Sean Astin) and the rest of the Fellowship on their quest to deliver the One Ring to Mount Doom, waging war in swashbuckling fashion along the way.
The – which is set thousands of years before the events of The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings – will star Maxim Baldry as Isildur, Aragorn’s ill-fated ancestor who went from being a sailor to a warrior, eventually facing off again Sauron himself.
During a recent interview, Viggo, 63, was asked how he feels about the show Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and his answer was hilariously honest.
‘What is that? The TV thing? It is with Apple, or something?’ he replied, as he was reminded it was actually an .
‘Oh, right. Yeah, I’ll watch that. But do you know what source material they’re using? What were they allowed to use?’ he asked.

It was recently revealed that some diehard Lord of the Rings fans had been granted … and the reactions have been overwhelmingly positive to say the least.
