CK’s attempt to revive his career following his admissions have been criticised by members of the comedy industry.

In August 2018, he made a surprise appearance at the Comedy Cellar in New York on Sunday night, a venue he performed at regularly before the accusation from five women surfaced.

He shared a lengthy statement in response to the claims, in which he said he felt ‘remorseful’ and that there was ‘nothing about this that I forgive myself for’.

In the wake of the Scan**l, CK lost his production deal with FX, which was home to his comedy series, Louie.

The Grammy winner was accused of masturbating in front of a number of comedians and actresses in an article in The New York Times.

Two of the women said that CK stripped n**ed.n**ed and masturbated in front of them after inviting them to his hotel room, while another said that the comedian masturbated on the phone after she called him to invite him to one of her shows.

CK said: ‘These stories are true. At the time, I said to myself that what I did was okay because I never showed a woman my d*** without asking first, which is also true.

‘But what I learned later in life, too late, is that when you have power over another person, asking them to look at your d*** isn’t a question. It’s a predicament for them.

‘The power I had over these women is that they admired me. And I wielded that power irresponsibly.’
