Gynaecomastia is a common condition that affects boys and men, the explains, causing their breasts to swell to a large size.

Causes of the condition can include hormone imbalance, obesity, puberty and old age, with rarer causes also being side effects of medicine, use of illegal drugs and the result of a health condition such as kidney failure.

If a GP believes a patient requires treatment, they might recommend medication to adjust hormone imbalance or surgery to get rid of excess breast tissue.

The NHS stresses that if the area is painful or there is a lump, patients should see their GP.

The fitness coach livestreamed the entire procedure, showing the medical professionals slicing into his chest, removing tissue and stitching him back up.

When it was all over, he thanked the doctors for performing the procedure, describing it as ‘fantastic’.
