star has claimed she was arrested while in Iran for ‘wearing jeans.’
The former reality star, 31, had a ‘really scary’ experience when police tried to put her in a van.
Anna, who appeared on the ITV2 dating show in 2019, said cops ‘grabbed’ her before her aunt was able to interject and resolve the situation.
Her heritage is British-Iranian, but she pretended that she was unable to speak the language so they would let her go.
‘I got arrested in Iran for wearing jeans,’ she began on Johnny Seifert’s Secure The Insecure podcast.
The influencer explained how the country is quite conservative and women can be punished for ‘wearing skirts and jeans,’ since they are expected to dress modestly and not wear ‘revealing’ garments.
‘It was really scary because I just remember all these police women grabbing me and trying to put me in the van,’ she continued.
‘They were saying in Farsi, “Your jeans are too tight and it’s not Islamic”, and they were trying to push me into the car.
‘My auntie was grabbing me and pulling me away and saying, “She’s English, she’s from England, she doesn’t know”.’
Anna was then ‘let go’ because she ‘didn’t know the laws enough.’
Recently, Anna also revealed that she had an abortion at the age of 21 after becoming pregnant from unprotected sex.
She explained on her Sisters in the City podcast how ‘scared’ she was to ‘open up’ about it, but she thinks it’s ‘important’ to speak openly about.
‘I learnt from my own mistake, and if other people can learn from my mistake then it’s the best thing to come from this,’ she shared.
She said she ‘wasn’t thinking’ and ‘wasn’t ready’ to have a baby because she was ‘really young.’
‘At that age you don’t think what can happen and I have deep regrets that I did end up pregnant.
‘I didn’t wish to be pregnant and have to get an abortion – I don’t like that. So if you can avoid that – do,’ she added.
She said she has practised safe sex since and is using the coil for protection.
