Kaz Crossley has shut down the rumours she’s dating , days after news of his .
The former Ex On The Beach star announced his relationship with aesthetic practitioner Safiyya had come to an end nearly a year after the death of their baby daughter Azaylia.
Shortly after, Ashley, 31, was pictured working out with ex-Love Island stars Kaz and Michael Griffith and shooting a photo campaign for a gym clothing brand.
It sparked speculation that Ashley and Kaz were secretly dating, but she has promptly put an end to the rumours.
In a Q&A on her Instagram, the 28-year-old influencer was asked: ‘What’s going on with you and Ashley Cain? X.’
Kaz then stated: ‘We are friends but after our work shoot the other day I’ve been getting hate messages saying I’m trying to get with him.
‘I’ve always supported his cause and likewise him with my kids in Thailand.’
Hitting back at the trolling she’s received as a result of their friendship, she added: ‘People are so quick to tear each other down it’s sad.’
Last week, Ashley and Safiyya shared a joint statement confirming they were no longer together.
They said: ‘After a devastating and heartbreaking year, Ashley and I decided to separate a few months ago. This was an incredibly tough decision which we needed to keep to ourselves for some time to give us the opportunity to figure out our own journey privately.
‘The past few months have demonstrated that we remain the closest of friends, spending time together everyday [sic], and that we will love, care and support each other forever.
‘We are bonded by our powerful journey together, by the eternal love we have for our daughter, and our passionate commitment to her foundation.’
They first started dating in 2017 before making things official the following year.
It has been a particularly devastating past year for the former couple, whose daughter Azaylia died at just eight months old in April 2021 following a battle with a rare form of cancer.
