Madonna fans receive health update from best pal Rosie O’Donnell amid hospitalisation

Rosie O’Donnell has shared an update on ’s health after she fell seriously ill and ended up in hospital.

The Material Girl icon, 64, was put in intensive care after she contracted a ‘serious bacterial infection’ on Saturday.

Although she is said to be ‘improving’, the singer is still under medical care.

It was a , as they were said to have been ‘’ at one stage.

Before she fell ill, Madonna was , which has now been postponed.

Confirming the news, Madonna’s manager said: ‘On Saturday June 24, Madonna developed a serious bacterial infection which led to a several day stay in the ICU.

‘Her health is improving, however she is still under medical care. A full recovery is expected.

‘At this time we will need to pause all commitments, which includes the tour.

‘We will share more details with you soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour and for rescheduled shows.’

Now, life-long friend and comedian Rosie O’Donnell, has shared an update, and it’s good news.

Posting a throwback photo of her and the Hung Up hitmaker doing yoga, the 61-year-old wrote, ‘She’s feeling good,’ alongside a thumbs up emoji.

Fans appreciated the news, as one wrote: ‘Thanks for the update. I’ve been worried. Give her my love.’

Rosie and Madonna have been closed pals ever since they starred alongside each other in the 1992 film, A League of The Own.

The singing legend’s Celebration world tour was due to kick off in Canada on July 15, and she was due to perform multiple nights in London throughout October and December.

Speaking about the scary ordeal, a family friend revealed to : ‘For the past couple of days, no one really knew which direction this was going to turn, and her family was preparing for the worst.

‘That is why it was kept a secret since Saturday. Everyone believed that we may lose her, and that has been the reality of the situation.’

Madonna is also mum to Rocco, 22, David, 17, Mercy, 17, and twins Stella and Estere, 10.
