was left ‘blindsided’ by Jackson Lonie’s decision to split, it has been reported.
The pair, , announced they were breaking up on Monday with a joint announcement on Instagram.
They wrote: ‘After a wonderful 10 months together we have decided to go our separate ways. There has always been a lot of love in our relationship and there will continue to be as we transition into a friendship.
‘We have nothing but love and respect for one another, and no one is to blame for the end of this relationship. Simply a case of “almost perfect.”‘
However, it has now been revealed that Olivia was ‘blindsided’ by Jackson’s decision.
A source said: ‘Jackson was the one who ended things and she was blindsided. When she got back from Europe she was talking about them getting married and moving to the UK together, but he wasn’t really wanting any of this.’
‘The six weeks she was overseas was the first time they’d spent apart since meeting on the show and it was as if he realised how intense and unhealthy everything had become,’ the insider added to .
Their split comes after their sex tape was L***ed, published to subscribers on Jackson’s account, before one user decided to viciously pass the footage on to the former stripper’s family.
Speaking about the incident last month, Jackson raged: ‘People thought it was OK to send our videos to my mum … which is f***ing disgusting.
‘And if you’re the type of person who sends that to somebody you need to take a good, hard look at yourself.’
Shortly before that, news emerged that Jackson had cheated on Olivia while she was in the UK.
Jackson was caught kissing a 20-year-old woman in a Melbourne nightclub in May.
On Olivia’s Instagram in a joint video, Jackson addressed the events, describing them as ‘f****d up’.
Jackson said the way he had been coping to deal with ‘negativity’ following Married At First Sight Australia was to get ‘blackout drunk’.
He revealed he was seeking help and support to ‘figure out new ways to combat my emotions and how to deal with this negativity’.
At the time, Olivia said that while they were ‘hanging in there’, they still have ‘a lot of healing to do’.
Metro.co.uk has reached out to Olivia’s reps for comment.
