It’s been a very happy Wednesday for Michelle Acklerey who is engaged to her partner Benjamin Ryan.
The One Show presenter, 37, certainly wasn’t expecting the rugby player, 50, to pop the question when out on a ‘morning stroll’ today.
Michelle couldn’t wait to show off her sparkling ring, and naturally wore a beaming smile on her face after saying yes.
The couple have been together for several years now, with Ben divorcing ex wife Natalie Peck in 2017.
Sharing a joyous selfie to announce their happy news today, Michelle wrote: ‘Nipped out for a morning stroll when this happened…! Happy Wednesday ??❤️’

The Crimewatch host was inundated with messages of congratulations from her Instagram followers, with famous friends offering well wishes.
‘Congratulations,’ wrote Oti Mabuse, while The Apprentice winner Tim Campbell also commented: ‘Congratulations ???’
Rav Wilding wrote: ‘Awwww congratulations both!! ❤️❤️’
Fellow TV presenter Ayo Akinwolere also joked: ‘Like it was ever in doubt! Bout time he put a ring on it ? – lemme know when to get my suite dry cleaned ???’
As well as The One Show – which Michelle stepped in to host while Alex Jones was off on maternity leave – she has fronted Watchdog and various CBBC shows.
Meanwhile, rugby union coach Ben helped the Fiji sevens team achieve their gold medal in sevens rugby at the Rio Olympics in 2016.
Michelle – who appeared on Celebrity Masterchef in 2018 – previously shared how supportive Ben has been through her struggles with endometriosis.
Speaking to , she said it was ‘a massive learning curve for him,’ since ‘he’s had to hear about these hormonal problems and to have him being so supportive is brilliant.’
‘Often, we’ll have these conversations when we’re outdoors on a three-hour walk. It really helps,’ she added.
‘There are still questions about what’s coming next for me. Will I need a hysterectomy in my 40s? Will I be able to have kids?
‘These are things people can’t say for sure, but I understand more about my body and I feel more positive and in control now than I ever have.’
