A new leak has revealed Modern Warfare 3’s first two maps, as the game is rumoured to be released later this year.Â
Activision has shaken up its annual Call of Duty release plans, seemingly ditching the idea of introducing a for . Instead, recent reports indicate a shift towards a brand-new full price game, with development handed over to Sledgehammer Games.Â
This upcoming title, nicknamed by fans as Modern Warfare 2.5, is now believed to be called simply – although Activision has still not made any official announcement about it.
However, a recent leak has given us a glimpse of what Modern Warfare 3 might have in store, as two of the game’s maps appear to have been confirmed.
While we can’t show you the images for legal reasons they depict what appears to be remastered versions of Terminal and Scrapyard – two fan favourite maps from the original Modern Warfare 2.Â
Terminal is a medium-sized multiplayer map and, as its name suggests, is set in an airport. The map was later remade for Modern Warfare 3 (2011), Infinite Warfare, and even COD Mobile.
On the flip side, Scrapyard is a smaller-scale multiplayer map that made its debut in the original Modern Warfare. This map showcases an aircraft junkyard with scattered airplane parts cleverly serving as cover for players.Â
The L***ed images were shared online by Call Of Duty leaker COD_Perseus, though they were uploaded on a telegram channel before hitting Twitter.

also disclosed that the official unveiling of Modern Warfare 3 is slated for Tuesday, August 1, along with sharing of other significant dates related to the game.Â
The site has a solid track record when it comes to leaks, especially for Call Of Duty, and previous rumours had already suggested that the new game will feature remastered maps – so this is almost certainly all true.
